A Conference in the White Hall where Henryk Wieniawski himself performed
Exactly one month before the opening round of the 17th Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Competition in Poznań, a press conference took place on September 9 at 1:00 PM in the White Hall of the Poznań Bazaar, bringing together competition organizers, patrons, partners, and journalists.
Speeches were delivered by Jacek Jaśkowiak, Mayor of the City of Poznań; Karolina Kaźmierczak, Director of the Wieniawski Competition; Bartłomiej Nizioł, Chairman of the Jury; as well as Marcin Gorayski, Deputy Director of Music of the National Institute of Music and Dance; Marlena Jezierska, Director of the Culture and Science Sponsorship Office at ORLEN; Marcin Kamiński, Head of Culture and Entertainment Programming Office of Telewizja Polska (TVP); Piotr Kędziorek, Director of Polish Radio Channel 2; and Karolina Grysiak, Head of the Promotion and Education Department at PWM Edition.
Starting with the Letter N
One of the highlights of the meeting was the draw to determine the performance order of the participants, conducted jointly by Competition Director Karolina Kaźmierczak and President of the Wieniawski Society Agata Szymczewska. The draw resulted in the letter N, meaning that Polish violinist Wojciech Niedziółka will open the competition, performing first before the jury and audience in the opening round.
