He started his education with Alexander Kirov and Elena Demidenko at the Academic Junior Music College that is affiliated with the Moscow Conservatory where Nikolai continued his studies under Eduard Grach. Since 2009 he has been a student with Konstanty Andrzej Kulka at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music. He won the third Moscow Competition for Young Violinists in 1998 and received a diploma in the fourth edition of this competition in 2002. His other major achievements include the Grand Prix at the festival Aram Khachaturian and his age (2003), the second prize at the international festival and competition Contemporary art and education (2006), the first prize in the competition Young talents of Russia and the first prize in the fourth International Competition for Young Violinists Violin of the North in Yakutsk in 2009.
