Magdalena Walter-Mazur 


Dr hab. Magdalena Walter-Mazur is an assistant professor at the Institute of Musicology of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. Her scientific interests are focused on music as an important element of culture and social life. She conducts source and repertoire studies, mainly on the music of the 17th and 18th century. Recently at the center of her interest is a collection of eighteenth and nineteenth-century musical sources gathered in the Diocesan Library in Sandomierz. She continues research on the musical culture of female monasteries in the 17th, 18th and 19th century. 

Magdalena Walter-Mazur is the author of two monographs and more than thirty publications in the most important music periodicals as well as in multi-authorial monographs. In her works she also has a translation of the treatise, a musical edition and editorials of scientific books. 

She is a member of the Polish Composers' Union, The Poznań Society of Friends of Sciences and the Poznań branch of RISM (The Répertoire International des Sources Musicales).
