Piotr Kopczyński



Graduated from Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw in 2008, where he studied piano with Prof. Piotr Paleczny, and chamber music with Prof. Maja Nosowska. He is prize winner of national and international piano competitions, incl. Karol Szymanowski International Competition in Łódź, National Pianist Audition for Students of Secondary Schools of Music in Warsaw (2nd prize), Regional Pianist Auditions in Warsaw (1st prize), International Kiejstut Bacewicz Chamber Music Competition (honourable mention for piano duo with Grzegorz Skrobiński). As soloist and chamber musician he has performed at several prestigious concert halls In Poland and abroad, incl. the National Philharmonic, Artur Rubinstein Łódź Philharmonic, Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio in Warsaw, Lviv Philharmonic, National Philharmonic of the Ukraine in Kiev, Universität der Künste in Berlin, Polish Radio Concert Studio in Katowice.

He has taken part in well-known festivals, incl. “Musica Moderna” in Łódź, “Summer Evenings at the Dziekanka” in Warsaw, International Chamber and Organ Music Festival in Wygiełzowo, "Royal Arcades of Art" at the Royal Castle in Warsaw, “Master Evenings” in Kośna Dolna, or the Sinfonia Varsovia-organised “Summer Concerts in Grochowska Street”.

He has participated in numerous premiere performances of works by such leading composers of the young generation, as Kamil Kosecki or Dariusz Przybylski. Together with Sinfonia Iuventus he has taken part in the “Two Days and Two Nights of New Music” contemporary music festival in Odessa, Ukraine.

He has perfected his skills at master classes at home and abroad, with such musical authorities, as Arie Vardi, Vera Gornostaeva, Alexey Orlowiecki, John O'Connor, or Kevin Kenner. Holder of a scholarship endowed by the National Children’s Fund, Scholarship of the Minister of Arts and Culture, as well as two-time winner of the "Young Persons’ Musical Forum" of the Austrian Forum of Culture in Warsaw.

In 2012, he began his teaching career at the Warsaw Academy.
