He began playing the violin when he was nine. Aleksander Budnikov studied with Professor Valery Vorona at the Ippolitov-Ivanov State Music Institute and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. studies under his tutelage. He has received a diploma in the Mykola Lysenko Violin Competition in Kiev and the third prize in the International Competition of Classical Heritage Teacher and Student in Moscow. Scholarship holder of the Russian Performing Art Foundation. He has played in the Moscow Conservatory, Ukraine, Italy, Great Britain, France and Latvia. Concertmaster of the Youth Chamber Orchestra conducted by Professor Vorona.
